The APSU Student Chapter of the Broadcast Education Association offers an opportunity for all Communication Arts majors specializing in Broadcast Media as well as any other interested APSU student to join and participate in all types of broadcast activities. Membership requires annual payment of local chapter ($10.00) and national BEA ($30.00) dues, and ongoing participation in local chapter activies and events.   Student members enjoy web resume postings, review of the BEA publications, participate in special events with experts in teh field, attend conferences, and enjoy an opportunity to apply for nearly $20,000.00 worth of Broadcast Education Association scholarships.   The BEA is a direcly affiliated with the National Association of Broadcasters, and for a reduced fee students members may opt to attend both the BEA and part of the NAB conferences which overlap allowing students to view the latest equipment and meet broadcast industry personnel.   Austin Peay State University's Communication and Theatre Department is an institutional member of the Broadcast Education Association.
